Train / Trade / Transfer on GO

GO verbs are Train, Trade, and Transfer. One of each per trio. They mark invest and storage priority among three names on one lens — not insults, not dollar grades.

How a GO trio scores

On Collectrio GO, Train beats Trade and Transfer. Trade beats Transfer. Transfer loses both. Those pairwise results update Elo for Dex, Raids, or Trade bait. Full recipe: /methodology. Start ranking at /go, read /go/rankings after unlock, package on /go/calculator.

Forced contrast is mandatory. If everything in your storage “feels like Train,” you are not ranking — you are flattering your roster. The board needs Transfer and Trade to learn what people release and move.

Abstract proxies only: letter marks and dex facts, never official sprites. Confirm the form — shiny, costume, regional — before you Train the wrong line.

Train in practice

Train means worth investing stardust, candy, buddy time, or a team slot relative to the other two names. On Raids lens that is attacker and PvE priority. On Dex it often means trophy keep-and-show or living-dex permanence. On Trade bait, Train is rarer: you are saying this bait is so strong you would rather invest than move it.

First-trade caution: do not mark Train on something you already agreed to Trade tonight just to inflate the story. Walkthrough: /guides/first-go-trade. Dust tax and specials still apply outside the verb — /guides/go-special-trade-tax.

Train is not a lifetime covenant. A new meta attacker can demote last season’s Train in a fresh Raids trio. Re-rank when your invest plan changes.

Trade in practice

Trade is the fair middle — you would move the mon for similar strength on this lens. Trade bait lens plus honest Trade votes define receive-side desire. That board should drive most /go/calculator drafts when fairness is the goal.

Liquidity thinking: /guides/ranking-frameworks. If you only ever Trade junk, the board learns junk is what moves — rank real mirrors and regionals you would actually offer.

When negotiating, say “Trade on Trade bait vs these Core lines” and share the calculator link with Lucky / Needs XL set honestly — /guides/how-calculator-works.

Transfer in practice

Transfer means storage cleanup: better sent to the professor than kept fighting the roster against these peers. Product copy is explicit — cleanup, not a slur. Deepen that ethic in /guides/box-cleanup-philosophy.

Before you Transfer a shiny duplicate, peek Trade bait. Before you Transfer a legendary with weak IVs, peek Raids and whether a partner still wants depth. Transfer friction is real on specials; the verb does not burn the special for you.

Transfer loses this comparison only. The species can Train later on another lens or against weaker peers.

  • Train — invest priority among these three.
  • Trade — fair move on this lens.
  • Transfer — cleanup loss; storage, not insult.

Lens discipline for verbs

Raids Train is not Dex Train. A shiny may be Dex Train and Raids Transfer relative to meta attackers. Rank separate trios instead of smashing meanings. Lens tour: /guides/how-lenses-work. Conflicts: /guides/lens-conflicts. Dex starter: /guides/starter-go-dex.

Off board names on a lens should not be forced into verb theater — switch lens or pick eligible peers. Board literacy: /guides/reading-the-board.

Friction the verbs ignore

Registration dust, daily specials, lucky rolls, XL candy walls — verbs do not pay them. Overlay tax after the board number looks fair. /guides/go-special-trade-tax. Uneven shiny-legendary vs depth packages: /guides/calculator-uneven-packages.

Mark Lucky in the calculator only when lucky. Needs XL when XL gates Train value for the receiver. Cheating modifiers breaks trust in share links.

From verbs to a careful trade

Unlock with one honest trio. Skim Elite/High on your lens. Draft on /go/calculator. Apply tax. Execute or delay. Detailed path: /guides/first-go-trade. Package habits: /guides/building-a-trade-package.

Trend spikes are not Transfer or Trade orders — /guides/trend-without-noise. Dollars stay off-site — /guides/why-not-a-price-list.

Mistakes to avoid

Using Transfer as flame language in chat. Burning specials because Train feels hype on Discord. Ignoring Needs XL when the receiver cannot invest. Mixing Cards Sleeve talk into GO threads as if one Elo applies — /guides/two-boards-never-mix.

Ranking costume vs non-costume carelessly. Treating Trade bait Elite as a vendor bid. Skipping unlock and arguing from locked UI screenshots.

A week of GO verb practice

Dex night: five trios with honest Transfers of clutter. Raids night: trios among attackers you might power. Trade bait night: one calculator package with a partner. Revisit verbs only if Transfer still feels like an insult — it should feel like freeing a slot.

Related: /methodology, /guides/reading-the-board, /guides. Paths: /go, /go/rankings, /go/calculator.

  • One of each verb per trio — contrast is the feature.
  • Lens first, verbs second, tax third.
  • Cleanup tone keeps the board and the community usable.

Verb hygiene in group chats

When someone says “Transfer that junk” as flame, rewrite it as “I’d Transfer this vs these two on Dex.” Precision cools the thread and keeps Collectrio’s meaning intact. Same for Train hype — ask which lens before you believe invest advice.

Raid hours produce Train inflation on species that will be Transfer clutter next week. Sleep on Train votes after raid hype, or rank on Raids deliberately and re-check Dex tomorrow. Trend without noise habits help — /guides/trend-without-noise.

Pin /guides/train-trade-transfer and /guides/box-cleanup-philosophy in community resources if you moderate a trade group. Paired with /guides/first-go-trade, newcomers stop treating Collectrio like a roasting app.

  • Rewrite insult Transfers into trio-relative language.
  • Raid-hour Train votes get a sleep rule.
  • Pin verb and cleanup guides in trade groups.
