Building a trade package on Collectrio

One market, one lens, one story

Cards packages use Cards ranks from /cards/rankings and /cards/calculator. GO packages use /go/rankings and /go/calculator. Never mash the two into one fairness exhibit — /guides/two-boards-never-mix. If you personally barter across hobbies, call it barter, not Collectrio Elo.

Pick the lens that matches the deal. Value or Trade bait for fairness. Binder or Dex when you are deciding whether you can emotionally move a hold. Playable or Raids when the deal is utility. Conflicts: /guides/lens-conflicts. Lens tour: /guides/how-lenses-work.

Unlock with one trio so your session board is live — /how-rankings-work. Prefer ranking at least one name that appears in the package when the board feels thin for you.

The practical loop

Write a one-sentence decision. Choose the lens. Rank if needed. Open the calculator. Load give and get. Set quantities. Apply honest modifiers — NM / LP / MP on Cards, Plain / Lucky / Needs XL on GO. Read the gap. Add a line, swap a line, or declare a favor. Share the URL.

Condition modifiers bite hardest on chase lines. A LP SIR should not pretend to be NM to close a gap. Modern SIR against a pile of Illustration depth is the classic uneven shape — read /guides/cards-chase-ladder so you know when Binder premiums are sneaking into a Value negotiation.

Vintage on one side and modern depth on the other needs extra condition honesty and an explicit nostalgia admission if Value cannot close.

GO package notes

Overlay registration dust and special-trade budgets after the calculator looks fair — /guides/go-special-trade-tax. A first careful trade should follow /guides/first-go-trade before you invent custom process. Lucky and Needs XL must match reality.

Dex starter path: /guides/starter-go-dex. Verbs: /guides/train-trade-transfer. Transfer leftovers after a deal if storage is tight, but do not Transfer the only Dex hole you still need.

Special-required chase vs registered depth often “fair” on Trade bait and still wrong to execute tonight — scarce slots beat pretty numbers.

What Collectrio will not do

It will not invent volume, scrape listings, promise the other person agrees, or mint dollars. Point partners to /guides/why-not-a-price-list when they demand a cash quote from the board.

Trend will move Elo after you share a link — /guides/trend-without-noise. Agree verbally that the shared URL is the checkpoint for tonight, not a live options chain.

Negotiation hygiene

Show the calculator link before haggling adjectives. If you need a favor, say favor. If nostalgia or binder rules block a move, say so before five rounds of fake fairness. Keep Store / Transfer language non-insulting when you reject a line.

Silent modifier cheats — upgrading condition, marking Lucky early — destroy trust because the share link makes them visible later. Multi-round honest edits are fine.

Worked mini-examples

Cards: you offer one Value Elite modern SIR; partner offers four Core IRs. Calculator shows get short. Add a fifth Core or a playable ultra on Value, or accept shortfall as Binder desire if you are receiving the SIR and admitting premium. Do not flip to Binder mid-share to inflate the chase.

GO: shiny legendary vs five Trade bait Core after registration. Numbers close, but special budget is your last of the day and you also need a Dex regional tomorrow — delay the special even when Collectrio says fair. Tax guide again: /guides/go-special-trade-tax.

After the deal

Re-rank if your Sleeve/Train feelings changed. Boards improve when winners and leftovers get honest new trios. If the deal failed, you still keep the literacy — that is not wasted unlock.

Template A — mirror peers: one Elite for one Elite on the fairness lens, modifiers matched, quantities one. Template B — chase for depth: one Elite versus four to six Core, run the pile bump honestly, refuse Fringe padding. Template C — utility stack: Playable or Raids only, list or invest copies, ignore art prestige.

Template D — favor with transparency: calculator shows a gap, both parties acknowledge, no modifier fiction. Template E — delay: numbers fair, tax or shipping unfair, schedule later. GO delays often wait on registration or specials — /guides/go-special-trade-tax.
