How the Collectrio calculator works

Same numbers, packaged

After you unlock a board, /cards/calculator and /go/calculator add current board values on give and get sides. Those values are the trio-driven Elo numbers described on /methodology — not scraped listings. Unlock and session context: /how-rankings-work.

Names in the picker and on each side link to that name’s Collectrio page. Share links keep quantities plus modifiers so a partner opens the same package shape you drafted. Cards and GO calculators never share state — /guides/two-boards-never-mix.

If the board feels thin for the names you care about, rank a few honest trios that include them before you trust the package math.

Quantities and the pile bump

Quantity steppers let you offer multiples of liquid Core names instead of wishcasting with one Fringe line. Methodology notes a modest bump so a pile is not purely the sum of lonely parts — useful, not magical. Ten Fringe names can still lose to one Elite.

Cards modifiers — NM / LP / MP

Condition changes expected Sleeve / Swap strength for a line. Be harshest on chase. Do not quietly upgrade depth condition to close a gap — partners see the share link. Abstract proxies mean Collectrio cannot see whitening; you and your partner still verify physical card state off-site.

Vintage and graded-adjacent holds deserve stricter condition honesty than fresh modern SIR in a sleeve. Chase ladder context: /guides/cards-chase-ladder.

GO modifiers — Lucky / Needs XL

Plain is default. Lucky reflects lucky status economics for power-ups. Needs XL flags XL candy pressure that changes Train value for the receiver. Marking Lucky to force fairness is cheating the shared contract.

Lens must match the deal

Wrong lens, wrong package. Value and Trade bait for fairness. Binder and Dex for emotional clearance before you agree to move a hold. Playable and Raids for utility trades. /guides/how-lenses-work. When Binder and Value disagree, sequence decisions — /guides/lens-conflicts — do not blend scores.

The calculator follows the board context you are using; modifiers do not fix a philosophical lens error.

What closeness means — and does not

Close sides mean crowd Elo strength is similar under your modifiers. It does not mean both parties feel identical, dust tax is covered, shipping is fair, or nostalgia is satisfied. Say favors out loud when gaps remain. Frameworks: /guides/ranking-frameworks.

Closeness is not a dollar quote — /guides/why-not-a-price-list. Trend can move the underlying Elo after you share — /guides/trend-without-noise — so timestamp the agreement.

Session practicalities

Rank a trio so your session board unlocks. Public votes move Elo for everyone when persistence is configured in production; local unlock still gates browsing intent on device as described in product copy.

Reopen the calculator before finalizing if the chase line’s trend has been violent. Do not renegotiate every flicker; agree a window. Reading boards: /guides/reading-the-board.

Edge cases the calculator will not save you from

Missing names: if a printing or form is Off board on your fairness lens, the picker may still find catalog identity while the ranked table does not treat it as a peer. Switch lens or replace the line. Off board literacy: /guides/reading-the-board.

Stale session intuition: you unlocked yesterday, trend moved today, and you forgot to reopen the calculator. Make reopening part of the ritual when |trend| on a chase line is loud — /guides/trend-without-noise. Agree with your partner that the latest shared URL wins.

Emotional overrides: Binder or Dex clearance failed, but you keep tweaking Value or Trade bait modifiers hoping the gap vanishes. Stop. Sequence hold lenses first — /guides/lens-conflicts. The calculator is not a therapy tool for binder guilt or shiny attachment.
